She underwent surgery to both of her feet in March 2020 after experiencing pain caused by having second metatarsal bones that were longer than those of the other toes. That meant the second metatarsal bones bore all of her weight during training and competitions. An injury to the second metatarsal bone in her left foot had previously prevented her from competing at the 2018 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
