"I grew up in a sports family. My father is a freestyle wrestling coach, and my great uncle, Artur Taimazov, was a freestyle wrestler. In order to curb my energy, my parents sent me to freestyle wrestling workouts. I really liked it there, but dad did not see my future in the sport, considering it purely male. When it became clear I would not give up sport, he redirected me to his friend, judo coach Geras Dzhioev. I can't say I immediately fell in love with it, but when the first successes came I realised I would keep going for a long time." (judo.ru, 01 Apr 2021)
