Highlights

He played in 175 internationals for Australia between 1979 and 1990. He competed at the Olympic Games in 1984 and 1988, finishing fourth on each occasion. He was head coach of the New Zealand men's team from 2012 to 2016. Before that he was coach of the Belgian men's hockey team from 2010 to 2012, having previously served as assistant between 2009 and 2010. He worked as assistant coach for the Australian men's team from 2001 to 2008, and was head coach of men's hockey at the Australian Institute of Sport [AIS] in 2001.
