He was head coach of the Ireland women's hockey team between 2015 and 2019, having served as assistant between 2013 and 2015. He has also held coaching positions with the Irish U18 and U21 hockey teams, and was head coach of Monkstown Hockey Club between 2012 and 2015. In addition he has held coaching roles at Loreto Hockey Club and Glenanne Hockey Club in Ireland.

FOOTBALL TO HOCKEY
He played youth football with future professional Irish footballer Damien Duff at Lourdes Celtic FC in Dublin, Ireland. He had the chance to sign for English football team Oxford United but decided to follow his parents' advice and finish his education instead. He also played Gaelic football and hurling at school, but decided to focus on hockey at age 17. "I always had this inner drive to be the best sportsperson I could be. I always wanted to prove to others how good I was at sport, maybe to make up for other areas in my life like academics where I wasn't as strong." EDUCATION
He studied for a diploma in sports management at University College Dublin in Ireland between 2001 and 2003. He then completed a bachelor's degree in sports science at the University of Ulster in Jordanstown, Northern Ireland, between 2004 and 2006.
