HOCKEY CAMP
He set up his own hockey training course aimed at children aged between 10 to 15 called the Thomas Briels Training Camp, which is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. (thomasbriels.be, Mar 2020; sportways.com, 2020)

CAREER PATH
In 2008 he moved to Eindhoven, Netherlands, to play for Oranje Zwart in the Hoofdklasse and improve himself as a hockey player. He stayed for seven seasons and won several titles, including the Euro Hockey League. "When I left Belgium, the clubs and the competition were on an amateur level. I wanted to play at the highest level and in the best competition. The difference between the Netherlands and Belgium was massive at that time." After moving back to Belgium to play for KHC Dragons for two seasons, in 2017 he returned to Eindhoven to join HC Oranje Rood. (ehlhockey.tv, 03 Mar 2016; hcoranje-rood.nl, 04 May 2017)
