General Interest

General
MOVE TO LEOPOLD
In July 2019 he left Royal Racing Club after eight years to join Royal Leopold. "It was not an easy choice. Racing is the club of my heart. I still had a contract there until 2021 and only wanted to leave the club in a way that everyone could agree with. I needed a new challenge in my career. I have found that at Leopold. Like Racing, Leopold is a family club, with real people working behind the scenes." (standaard.be, 19 Jul 2019)

NUMBER 27
He chose the number 27 after his idol growing up, Belgian footballer Vincent Kompany. "I wanted a number that nobody had. It was Vincent Kompany's number when he originally played for Anderlecht at the beginning of his career. I had a lot respect for him, I found him exceptional." (bf.be, 06 Apr 2020)

HOCKEY CAMPS
He runs 'Tom Boon Hockey Camps'. The camps introduce hockey to children in Belgium and have worked in other countries, including Ghana. (fih.ch, 06 Apr 2020)
