"I've always been very restless. I've always liked sports and competing. What I liked [about hockey] was that it is a team sport. When my father told me he was going to sign me up I didn't have a clue what it was. He told me I'd like it, I could run, which is what I liked the most, I'd never stop and it was easy and I said 'why not?' I started and liked it a lot." (visibilitas.com, 10 Sep 2017)

CHANCE ENCOUNTER
Her career in hockey began after a chance meeting with Spanish coach Jose Manuel Brasa, who noticed her coordination and agility at a playground when she was age six. Brasa was impressed by her balance and movement on the playground equipment, and gave her father his business card and asked him to sign her up for hockey at the Club de Campo, where he was the technical director. She was already playing tennis, football, skiing and doing horse riding, so her father did not act on his suggestion, until three years later when he took her to the Club de Campo hockey team. By this time Brasa had left the club to coach the Indian national team, but believes his persistence paid off. "I must have made an impression because her father kept my business card for three years, when the normal reaction might have been to throw it out," Brasa said. "She had great spatial vision and hand-eye coordination. I really insisted because I was convinced she would stand out." (marca.com, 19 Jul 2017)
