General Interest

General
HARD GROUND TO TURF
She began playing hockey on hard ground as there was no turf where she studied in Thenzawl, India. She first played on an artificial surface at the Shivaji Stadium in Delhi, where she was competing in the Nehru Cup for the Sports Authority of India [East]. "It was a bit difficult adjusting to the smooth artificial surface. Our team would go early for our matches just to get the feel of the turf during that tournament." (mumbaimirror.indiatimes.com, 04 Nov 2019)

LANGUAGE
She speaks Mizo and had little understanding of Hindi and English in her early days with the senior national team. "When I had just joined the Indian senior team, Rani Rampali was my roommate. All my teammates knew that I didn't know English or Hindi so they helped me learn the languages, but Rani especially helped me a lot. She used to teach me Hindi and help me with my game as well. Whenever I had any doubts about my game, I'd go and ask her. She is my favourite player and it's just amazing to be playing alongside her for India."
