Hockey - DANCER Sean

He played for the Australian men's U21 team before moving to Belgium to play professional hockey in 2001. He stayed in Belgium for seven seasons, where he spent part of that time at Royal Herakles Hockey Club in Antwerp, before retiring in 2009. In 2019 he guided the Irish women's team through a two-legged Olympic qualifier against Canada in Dublin, Ireland, that secured their place at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. He was an assistant coach to the New Zealand women's team that finished fourth at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, QLD, Australia. (irishtimes.com, 25 Apr 2019)

2019

He was the assistant coach of the New Zealand women's team from 2014 to 2019, and served as interim head coach of the team from January 2019 to April 2019. He has worked as a coach for Hockey New Zealand since 2009, including as an assistant coach to the New Zealand men's team at the 2010 World Cup and 2012 Olympic Games, and head coach of the U21 women's team. He has also worked as a high performance manager for the Wellington Hockey Association, and was head coach of the Belgian women's U16 team in 2007.
