BREAK FROM HANDBALL
In November 2018 she left Handball Korea League club Gwangju Metropolitan City Corporation after she had been troubled by injuries, particularly to her ankle, and began working as a swimming instructor in Incheon, Republic of Korea. She was persuaded to return to competitive handball by newly appointed Gwangju coach Oh Seil in August 2019. "I was determined not to play handball again at that time, but coach Oh kept calling me and even coming to visit me from Gwangju over four months. One day he told me that a handball jersey looked better on me than a swimming costume. At the time I just laughed it off, but later came to admit it."
