PARENTHOOD
Her wife Kirsty gave birth to their daughter Harley in August 2020, and in October Tameka spoke about adjusting to the experience of balancing parenthood and her football career. "I guess it's quite common in the men's game, because they obviously don't have to carry [the child]. And I didn't carry either, but it's still a weird concept for women's football or the Matildas [Australian women's football team] environment because no one's at that stage where themselves or their partner has had a baby and they've kept playing. It is a little bit different. And I guess there's no path that we can follow or a process that's already in place. We kind of don't have that. So it's going to be a little bit of trial and error and see where we give and take, and working with all the staff at the Matildas and whatever club I'm at as well. It's going to be a new situation for myself and our little family." (matildas.com.au, 15 Oct 2020)

CLUB JOURNEY
She started her professional career with the Brisbane Roar, making her debut at age 16 in 2008. In 2012 she moved to the United States of America to sign with the Boston Breakers, in 2013 she joined German club FFC Frankfurt, and in 2014 she signed with Japanese side Iga FC. In 2017 she moved to Norway to sign with Klepp ahead of the Toppserien season. In 2018 she left Brisbane Roar to sign with Melbourne City ahead of the 2018/19 W-League season, but returned to Brisbane Roar the following year. OCCUPATION
In February 2018 she began working as a intern at Seven Consulting, a project management company based in Australia. "Seven Consulting is all about project management. I normally go in one day a week on my day off from football. If I go on-site or to a meeting with one of their clients I need to be present for the whole day. Being a professional footballer, and also focusing on my career off the field can be very busy at times and also hectic, but at the same time, it's very rewarding and fulfilling." (footballaustralia.com.au, 26 Mar 2021; athletesvoice.com.au, 01 Jun 2019)

FURTHER EDUCATION
In 2014 she graduated from Griffith University with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing and sports management, and in 2018 she graduated from the same university with a master's degree in business administration, marketing and sports management. (LinkedIn profile, 28 Mar 2021)
