"My brother was my idol growing up and he played football. I was always in the backyard with him and my sister kicking the ball around. General Interest

General
POSITION
She plays predominantly as a defender for her country, but is regularly used as a midfielder at club level. "I've played more as a holding midfielder [for Tottenham] and it's a position where I can use my attributes on the ball a lot more. It's my preferred position, I enjoy being more involved. We've always had a bit of a need for players at the back with the national team and from a younger age that's where I've played. I never really wanted to be a central defender but I've sort of embraced that role with the Matildas, and adapted to the role. But at club level, I want to be able to enjoy my career. It doesn't last long and I'm happiest playing in midfield." (theworldgame.sbs.com.au, 12 Dec 2020)

CLUB JOURNEY
She began her professional career with Australian club Sydney FC and made her debut at age 16 in the 2010/11 W-League season. She played four more seasons with the club across two spells, in between stints at W-League sides Newcastle Jets, Western Sydney Wanderers and Perth Glory, and moved to the United States of America to join the Western New York Flash ahead of the 2016 National Women's Soccer League [NWSL] season. She was traded to the Orlando Pride ahead of the 2017 NWSL season. In 2017 she joined Melbourne City on loan ahead of the 2017/18 W-League season, while she returned to Sydney FC on loan for the 2018/19 and 2019/20 W-League seasons. She joined English Women's Super League [WSL] side Tottenham Hotspur on loan ahead of the 2020/21 season, and signed on a permanent transfer in January 2021. (matildas.com.au, 20 Aug 2020; soccertoday.com, 26 Feb 2016; orlandocitysc.com, 19 Jan 2017; heraldsun.com.au, 25 Oct 2017; w-league.com.au, 05 Sep 2018; sydneyfc.com, 24 Sep 2019; tottenhamhotspur.com, 07 Jan 2021; matildas.com.au, 22 Aug 2017)

TATTOOS
She has a number of tattoos. "I have a sail boat, drawn by yours truly. Waves on my ankles, a visual metaphor for overcoming tough times. Scales of justice inside my forearm, I'm a firm believer of seeking justice in any situation, big or small. My jersey number [14] very small in roman numerals in the middle of my back. That is just to name a few, and there are more to come." (sbs.com.au, 15 Mar 2016)
