RETURN TO AUSTRALIA
In 2020 he joined Saudi Arabian club Al Taawoun from Western Sydney Wanderers FC in Australia. However, he struggled to settle and returned to Western Sydney Wanderers FC on loan in February 2021. "There are a lot of reasons, especially my happiness on and off the pitch. I missed the birth of my child and it has been mentally tough. I was bought as a striker by the first coach but have been on the wing with no goals or assists. It was hard. I was playing as a winger and not enjoying the football. I wanted to play in my position [forward] but I didn't get the chance. I went to the club and told them that if I don't get the chances then I want to look at other opportunities. It was a long three week discussion, it was a bit of a battle but they agreed to let me go back [to Western Sydney Wanderers FC]. I almost took it for granted but I now realise how mental health and happiness are so important." (theworldgame.sbs.com.au, 02 Feb 2021; transfermarkt.co.uk, 30 Jun 2021)
