"My dad was the first one to get me into football, along with my friends from school. From as young as I can remember I was kicking a ball around. It wasn't always a football, but that was the one that stuck." (sunlive.co.nz, 13 Mar 2021)

General Interest

General
CLUB CAREER
He began his career in New Zealand and played for Ngongotaha AFC, Western Suburbs, Wellington Phoenix and Eastern Suburbs between 2015 and 2019. He moved to Sweden in August 2019 to join Torslanda IK, and moved on to Swiss club GC Zurich in January 2020. In June 2020 he moved to fellow Swiss club Grasshoppers, but was transferred two months later to Rio Ave FC in Portugal. "I wouldn't say that I get homesick nowadays. Back when I first moved out of home I was a little, but I'm used to it by now. The first time I arrived in Portugal was difficult because it was the first time living in a country where I didn't know anyone or speak the language, so that sure took some time to adjust to." (transfermarkt.co.uk, 30 May 2021; sunlive.co.nz, 13 Mar 2021)

REPRESENTING NEW ZEALAND
Born in the Netherlands, he moved to Rotorua, New Zealand, at age three. He was eligible to represent both nations but opted to play for New Zealand. "Ever since I was young I wanted to play for the All Whites [New Zealand national football team], so being able to make my senior debut was special. I won't forget that moment. Not many people can say they've gone to the Olympics, so to have a chance at going would be a great experience." (sunlive.co.nz, 13 Mar 2021)
