COMMON GOAL
In 2019 she and her partner Pernille Harder signed up for Common Goal, through which footballers give 1% of their earnings to organisations working for social change. Her and Harder's contributions are to PlayProud, which aims to make team sports more welcoming for youths who identify as LGBTQ+. "We've played without privilege and now we are privileged. So now we want to give back to those people who don't have the same situations we do. Neither me or Pernille had an objective to become gay role models. We were just quite open from the start when we started seeing each other. From then on, we've both had successful careers, we both became role models and well-known names. It just kind of happened. It has been important for us not to hide something and just to be ourselves. To show people, that is how it should be. That's how we want the world to be. We want people to be themselves and that's how we want to be as well." (soccerbible.com, 05 Sep 2019; theguardian.com, 07 Aug 2019; Twitter profile, 15 May 2021; forbes.com, 16 Dec 2020)

FULL-TIME FOOTBALL
She says she considered going to university as she did not initially believe a career in football would be possible. "I've always had a hard time seeing myself as a football player. I've always thought that I should do something else, like I should study as well. When I was younger it was hard for a woman to see herself as only a football player. You always felt like you had to do something more than that. Now, I know I'm only a football player and I love it, because I get to spend 100% of my time improving myself."
