She previously played as a forward but switched to a defender in 2020 due to injuries in the defensive positions at Cerezo Osaka Sakai in Japan. In 2020 US club Washington Spirit signed her primarily as a forward, but she has played at centre back for much of her time at the club. "I used to play as a centre back from time to time while in middle school and high school, so I was able to accept the switch smoothly.
