He joined the youth academy at FC Lorient in France at age eight and signed his first professional contract with the club in October 2018. Despite his father spending time in prison during Enzo's childhood, serving sentences from age five to nine and again from age 12 to 19, he says his father was still a motivating figure in his football development. "I went to see him in the visiting rooms. For a while, he was in Brest [France], a city which is one and a half hours from here. Suddenly, I missed the training on Wednesday to visit him. Then, he was imprisoned next door, in Ploumeur [France]. I saw him on Saturday morning before my matches. At the club, everyone knew the situation, they were understanding. I even had coaches who went to see him. I wanted to give my all for him even more, to make him proud. What gave me strength was to telling myself that once his sentence was served, I had a chance to be at the top level under the watch of my family."
