While playing with the reserve team at FC Motagua, he considered leaving football and emigrating to the United States of America with his father and brother. "The plan was to go with them, but I had already been living in Tegucigalpa [Honduras] for a year and had won the championship with the reserves. My father put a lot of thought into it and in the end he told me to stay, while he left with my brother. There were times I didn't want to know anything about football, when I wasn't getting minutes.
