She scored 71 goals in 146 appearances for Sweden, making her debut as a 15-year-old in 1975. She won the 1984 European Championship in England and scored the winning penalty kick in the final. She coached the Swedish women's U17 national team between January 2018 and July 2019. She also coached the Swedish women's national team between 2012 and 2017. Before that she coached the US women's national team between 2008 and 2012, and also served as assistant coach of the Chinese women's national team during the 2007 World Cup. Domestically, she has coached the Boston Breakers in the United States of America [2003] and KIF Orebro DFF in Sweden [2005-06].
