OLYMPIC GOAL
While working as head goalkeeper coach at the University of California, Los Angeles in the United States of America in 2015, she was inspired to return to the sport as an active player after watching the national team play at the 2015 World Cup in Canada. She returned to play club football in Brazil and went on to make the national team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "It was a strange day. I was supporting the team but inside myself I was telling to myself, 'That could be me'. That's when I began thinking about returning. I said, 'OK, when is the next major competition for Brazil', and it was the 2016 Olympic Games [in Rio de Janeiro]. So I had almost a year to accomplish the dream." (El Patio YouTube channel, 23 Dec 2020)
