SISTER ACT
She and her sister Sam were both selected to represent the United States of America at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "It is so funny that we're best friends now because we literally hated each other growing up. But at the same time, we were kind of like secretive best friends because we literally did everything with soccer together." (people.com, 01 Jul 2021)

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
In November 2020 she earned her first cap in six years with the US national team. Having made her international debut in 2013, she suffered a series of injuries from 2014 onwards, which included a torn anterior cruciate ligament [ACL] in 2018. "I just remember I was OK with being average for a couple years there. When you get cut with the national team, you lose a lot of your self-identity and confidence. It was hard for me to convince myself that it wasn't over. I had to look within myself and decide where I was going to go with my career. Am I going to continue being average or am I going to try and push for my dreams? Me tearing my ACL was kind of a blessing in disguise because I feel like it just woke me up a little bit. It just made me ask myself, 'Kristie, what are you doing? You need to come back from this. You're missing out on your dreams. You're being OK with being 70 or 80 percent'."
