Her father Yoon Hak-Kil has represented the Republic of Korea in baseball and competed at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where it was a demonstration sport. In June 2018 she suffered a meniscus tear in her knee. She decided not to undergo surgery, but to get rehabilitation treatment in order to compete at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia in August that year.
