General Interest

General
Kirsten Wild and Amy Pieters have been competing together in the madison at international level since 2017, although they both represented the Netherlands in team pursuit at the 2012 Olympic Games in London where they finished sixth.

Their first medal as a pair came at the 2017 European Championships in Berlin, where they claimed bronze. One year later they repeated the result, finishing third behind Danish and Russian pairings. Wild and Pieters also claimed a silver medal at the 2018 World Championships in Apeldoorn.

The Dutch pair secured their first win at international level at the 2019 World Cup event in Hong Kong, China. Two months later at the world championships, Wild and Pieters became the first Dutch team to win a women's madison world title as they finished two points ahead of the Australian pair of Georgia Baker and Amy Cure.

They made it two in a row at the 2020 World Championships, this time topping the field ahead of French and Italian pairings.
