During training in July 2012 she had an accident that resulted in two fractures to her foot and torn ankle ligaments. Her family first got her involved in the sport. Her mother Ewa used to take her and her brother on skiing and cycling trips at the weekends, and once decided to enter them all into the family category of the Polish amateur championships.
