"I grew up as an athletic boy and tried many different sports, from ballroom dancing to football and boxing. Before paddling, I played volleyball for three and a half years. Why did I choose canoe? Probably because many sports were present at training sessions. We played football and volleyball, ran, swam, went hiking, mastered wrestling techniques. He teamed up Vladislav Chebotar in 2016. "My coach Vitaly Mikhailovsky and I were looking for a partner. We were looking for a young and promising one for the 1000m distance. We came to the conclusion that Vlad, who specialised in 1000m, fit optimally in technical terms. Compatibility is an important factor. We immediately showed good times, so we decided to work together. Of course, at first there was adaptation. I had already won the world championships, and Vladislav had just graduated from the youth ranks. When we sat down for the first time in the doubles, the boat was shaking from how worried he was.
