His older brother Mikhail and younger brother Sergey have both represented Kazakhstan in canoe sprint at international level. Mikhail competed in the C1 500m and 1000m events at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Sergey competed at six editions of the world championships from 2011 to 2019. He also won three gold medals at the 2011 World Junior and U23 Championships at Brandenburg, Germany and two gold medals at the 2016 World Junior and U23 Championships in Minsk, Belarus.
