His older brothers Mikhail and Timofey have both represented Kazakhstan in canoe sprint at international level. Mikhail competed in the C1 500m and 1000m events at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Timofey competed in six editions of the world championships from 2011 and 2019 and won three gold medals at the 2011 World Junior and U23 Championships in Brandenburg, Germany.
