Her husband Vadzim Makhnev represented Belarus in canoe sprint at the Olympic Games in 2004, 2008 and 2012, winning bronze in the K2 500m in 2004, gold in the K4 1000m and bronze in the K2 500m in 2008, and silver in the K2 200m in 2016.
