Olympic qualifying results
She secured a spot at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo following a decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS]. Bujold, who won gold at the Canadian qualifier in December 2019, was unable to take part in the 2021 Pan American Qualification Tournament in Buenos Aires after the event was cancelled due to COVID-19. The IOC Boxing Task Force [BTF] then decided that qualification spots for athletes from the Americas would be decided on three events from 2018 and 2019, when Bujold had been on maternity leave. Her appeal to CAS was successful in June 2021. (bbc.co.uk, 01 Jul 2021; apnews.com, 01 Jul 2021)

SUCCESSFUL APPEAL
"We looked at how it would affect me and thought it wasn't fair. I was left out because these events were retroactively selected as qualifying events. Of all the battles I've prepared for in my career, I never thought the battle for gender equity would be the hardest. It was one of the biggest fights of my career, but also the fight with the most meaning. I was standing up for what I believe is right and for what I had worked so hard for."
