General
LATE BLOOMER
She has been coached by Paddy Sharkey since she took up the sport at age 18 at Castlerea Boxing Club in Ireland. "Since the first day she came in here she was so dedicated and focused. She trains so hard and she has the talent too. I knew straight away that she would be good. I remember when she had just started we went down to a club in Mayo [Ireland] and told them that she was only a novice - they got some shock when they saw her in action. I was talking to Bernard Dunne [former professional Irish boxer] a few years ago and told him we had a girl in the club that was going to win an Olympic medal. That's how confident I was about her ability," Paddy said. (roscommonpeople.ie, 11 Jun 2021)
