She took up kickboxing and boxing at the same time while she was on her summer holiday between primary school and high school in Warsaw, Poland. (Warszawski Boks YouTube channel, 06 Jan 2021)

"First I trained in gymnastics but I was too tall and I couldn't continue with the sport. I had two or three years break, but I wanted to attend a sport high school so I had to train in something. My brother did boxing and kickboxing, so he and my father knew some coaches and they gave me papers to start kickboxing. I got a spot at the school, but I also decided that I would like to try the sport." (Warszawski Boks YouTube channel, 06 Jan 2021)

General
MATERNITY BREAK
Between September 2008 and 2015 she took a break from boxing and started a family. She initially competed as a professional on her return to the ring, but she later made the decision to join the amateur ranks. "I have a lot of experience, life experience. In the past I was on top, but returning to boxing was not easy. At international events I was not able to always win and I realised that coming back wouldn't be as easy as I had thought. But all the time I worked hard and I believed that it was possible. I said to myself that I wanted to go to the Olympic Games and win an Olympic medal." IN LOVING MEMORY
Her mother passed away shortly before the 2019 European Games. Koszewska was unable to attend the funeral as she had to go to Minsk, Belarus, for the Games, but she dedicated the gold medal she won there to her mother. "In interviews I always say that I am in boxing thanks to my father, he introduced me to the sport and took me to training. But without my mother I would not have been able to do it. She helped me a lot, she took care of my children. This medal is also hers. This gold is our common success. I want to embed this medal into her grave. I was next to her when she passed away, but I couldn't attend her funeral and it was the most difficult decision. But I knew that she wanted me to compete." ( kierunektokio.pl, 10 Jul 2019)
