She began playing volleyball in high school, and took up beach volleyball in 2011. "I started playing volleyball pretty late, I was about 17, 18 years old." (forbes.com, 28 Aug 2019; volleyballmag.com, 21 Aug 2019; beachvolleyballspace.com, 01 Aug 2018)

"I played indoor volleyball in university and I had friends who played on the beach national team because the national training centre was so close to my school. In indoor, I didn't pass, I didn't set, just hitting and serving. And then I tried beach to be able to learn those skills that I was missing. My friends encouraged me to try out. And when I did, I really loved how challenging it was and kind of stuck to it. As opportunities came and accomplishments came I started setting the bar higher and higher." NEW COACH
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she and playing partner Heather Bansley began working with coach Rico de Freitas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after they were forced to spend time abroad in order to train in the correct conditions. While away from Canada, they also trained in Cancun, Mexico, and California, United States of America, before returning to competition at the March 2021 World Tour event in Doha, Qatar. "Rico's extremely professional and extremely knowledgeable, and I think he's still managed to challenge us and bring more tools to our game. And at such a high level, it's really hard to continue to grow and really just bring anything new to your game." (cbc.ca, 25 May 2021)

SWITZERLAND TO CANADA
Born in Lausanne, Switzerland, she moved to Canada at age seven. "Coming in as an immigrant I didn't speak English so I was super shy. I would write tiny and not speak and walk around staring at the floor because I couldn't make eye contact. Being a tall girl is always awkward." (theshadowleague.com, 10 Aug 2019; olympic.ca, 30 Oct 2020)

PARTNERSHIP
She began playing alongside beach volleyball partner Heather Bansley in 2016. (FIVB, 01 Jan 2021)
