His brothers Hendrik and Markus Mol and his cousin Mathias Berntsen are also beach volleyball players representing Norway at international level. His mother Merita Berntsen Mol represented Norway in beach volleyball at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, and won silver at the 1995 European Championship in France.
