He serves as head coach of the Illawarra Hawks in the Australian National Basketball League [NBL]. He was appointed to the role in 2020

He has coached a number of teams in the Australian National Basketball League [NBL], including the Eastside Melbourne Spectres, the South East Melbourne Magic, the Victoria Titans, the Sydney Kings, and the South Melbourne Dragons. He was an assistant coach with the Japanese men's basketball team in 1997 and 2001, and was head coach of the Australian men's basketball team for the first time between 2001 and 2009. He then moved to the Chinese Basketball Association [CBA], where he was head coach of the Dongguan Leopards from 2009 to 2015, and also spent time as an associate coach with the Guangdong Tigers and the Shanghai Sharks. From 2018 to 2019 he was head coach of the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.
