RETURN TO THE SPORT
She announced her retirement from international basketball following the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where she was part of the Serbian team that won bronze. However, in November 2018 she attended a national team training camp after national coach Marina Maljkovic asked her to return. Maljkovic, who first coached Butulija when she was age 17, had also taken time away from the sport following the 2016 Games. "When Marina called me, I didn't have to think about it, even for a minute. Marina is back and I think that it would be extremely bad of me to not play for my country, for Serbia and for Marina. In 2016 the psychological fatigue was greater than the physical fatigue. My body was fine then and it is now. I knew I could still play but my head was tired of basketball." STUDIES
During her break from international competition, she graduated from the University of Belgrade in 2018. The title of her thesis was 'Free Throws in Senior Basketball'. (kosmagazin.com, 29 Jun 2019; dif.bg.ac.rs, 28 Aug 2018)
