General Interest

General
NUMBER
She wears the number 93 jersey in reference to the French department of Seine-Saint Denis, where she was born. The official administrative number of the department is 93. "For me it's a way to transmit a positive message to Seine-Saint-Denis. It represents a lot to me because I was born and grew up there. My childhood memories are from there. Wearing number 93 perfectly sums up the importance of this department to me." (lanouvellerepublique.fr, 21 Dec 2019; paris2024.org, 01 Jan 2019; sport24.lefigaro.fr, 15 Jun 2017)

PROJECT
She runs the 'Take Your Shot' initiative, which is aimed at encouraging young girls to take up basketball in difficult neighbourhoods in Paris, France. The project comprises of basketball workshops and a basketball 3x3 tournament. "Everybody knows what happens in these neighbourhoods, and I asked myself how could I make a positive impact on these young girls who are sometimes close to bad influences that need to be taken away from them. That's how I came up with the project. My goal is that there might be an evolution. It's going to be slow, but it will matter." (lanouvellerepublique.fr, 21 Dec 2019; paris2024.org, 01 Jan 2019)

US STINT
In 2009 she began studying at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, United States of America, and spent two years playing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association [NCAA]. "I learnt a lot there, especially regarding basketball. They are the best in the world and I love to learn from the best. The work culture there is crazy. The facilities are massive. It's really a model, not only for basketball but from a social life point of view as well." (lanouvellerepublique.fr, 21 Dec 2019)
