After completing a degree at Washington State University in 2009, he began his professional career in Lithuania with Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius before moving to Germany to play for Oldenburg. He then signed for Greek side Ikaros Kallitheas for the 2011/12 season, followed by Slovenian side Union Olimpija in 2012/13. He signed for the San Antonio Spurs in early 2013, before joining the Detroit Pistons in July 2015. In July 2017 he signed for the Boston Celtics before being traded to the Phoenix Suns in June 2019.
