He began his coaching career in Italy, working with the Italian Air Force [1983-85], Pesaro [1989-91], Aurora Desio [1991-93], and Fortitudo Bologna [1993-96]. He later spent 11 years in Spain, which included coaching Saski-Baskonia [1997-99], Real Madrid [1999-2002] and CB Malaga [2003-08]. He moved to the Russian Federation to coach Khimki [2008-10] before returning to Italy to coach club Olimpia Milano [2011-13] and then completing a second stint with Saski-Baskonia [2013-15] in Spain.
