SPANISH SPORTS ACADEMY
She left home at age 14 to attend Segle XXI, a sports academy in Barcelona, Spain, that was set up ahead of the 1992 Olympic Games. The academy aims to identify and train elite athletes in Spain. "I remember that it was a very beautiful time, but also very hard because I was 14 and leaving my family and friends was not easy. But I think I learned a lot and I can say that today I am the player that I am thanks to the experience and the maturity I obtained, not only on a technical level, but also on a personal level."
