SPAIN OVER WNBA
She was selected in the third round, 36th overall pick, of the 2009 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun, but says she has always preferred playing with the Spanish national team over a career in the United States of America. "For any player, playing in the WNBA is something wonderful. It's the world's best league. But there are international tournaments each year, Olympic Games, European and world championships, that make it complicated to go there to play, due to the scheduling. My priority has always been the national team. I would rather have an Olympic gold medal than a WNBA championship ring. I look around me and see my teammates, my coaches, the structure and the way we approach each [northern hemisphere] summer and they don't give me a choice. There's no doubt. I look them in the eye and say, 'Let's go all out'. I'm proud and privileged to play on the national team."
