HERITAGE
Born in Stockton, CA, United States of America, she is eligible to represent Puerto Rico because her mother Janet was born on the island. Gibson's grandparents spent a year in Puerto Rico while her grandfather worked in the telecommunications industry, and Janet was born during that period. An Oregon State University teammate put Gibson in contact with the coaching staff of the Puerto Rican national team, and after passing a tryout she joined the team in 2013. "It probably took a couple of years. There was a huge language barrier. Most of the team were from the island. I had never been. Puerto Rico loves basketball. There's a passion that's not always there with college basketball [in the United States of America]. It's such a cool dynamic to be there and see the passion of the fans. It's a great opportunity to be able to play." (recordnet.com, 06 Aug 2019)

OCCUPATION
She works as chief of staff at a technology advisory firm based in Los Angeles, CA, United States of America. (LinkedIn profile, 01 May 2020)
