REPRESENTING IRAN
Born in Stockport, England, he represented his birth country in basketball at youth level. He is eligible to compete for the Islamic Republic of Iran through his father. "It's an honour to represent my father's homeland and the Iranian Federation, props to them. They helped me with the process and all the administrative matters. Then obviously the guys in the team which I'm good friends with. They really did help me throughout the line as well." (tehrantimes.com, 05 May 2020; fiba.basketball, 15 Nov 2019; manchestereveningnews.co.uk, 07 Jan 2015)

WELL TRAVELLED
He has played basketball at club level in Argentina, Croatia, England, Mexico, Spain, and the United States of America. "I think the change from the English to the Spanish style of play was big. It was a great opportunity as a child to adjust many of my fundamental skills to the Spanish level. After acquiring these skills, I learned the necessary skills for the different styles of basketball in the world and had the experience of playing in different countries. I went to the US, and that is a different level. They are more focused on speed, agility, strength. So I had to add that to my game. I have learned different types of basketball through playing in different countries. Everything has been constantly changing for me, but I have always been able to do my job."
