"I have been playing for 25 years now [2020] and am still motivated to play because I enjoy the game and the challenges it provides. At a high level, softball isn't easy. You have to be quite resilient to be consistent at that level." (the-riotact.com, 11 Oct 2020)

General Interest

General
STUDYING, PLAYING ABROAD
She played for the University of Hawaii [UH] in the United States of America from 2005 to 2009, and says the experience had a major influence on her development as a player. She finished her time at the university with 160 career runs, the second highest in UH history at the time, and third in all-time UH career hits [240] from a total of 229 games. "I probably learnt the most about myself as a player, student and person in general after attending college [in Hawaii]. Balancing study and being away from home, I learnt a lot about time management, dedication, prioritising, making sacrifices and also about the mental side of the game - 60 games in four months makes you resilient." She has also played for several years in the Italian Softball League for the Legnano club. (softball.org.au, 01 Jan 2019; hercanberra.com.au, 21 Jun 2017)

OCCUPATION
She works as a teacher at Harrison Public School in Canberra, ACT, Australia and balances her job with softball commitments. "Harrison School and the department of education have been very flexible with me. Whenever I need time, they've been pretty good at giving it to me. I'm pretty happy to stay at work and fit in my softball schedule around it. I've been working for four years [as of 2020] while playing internationally so I feel comfortable doing it." (the-riotact.com, 11 Oct 2020; canberratimes.com.au, 17 Jan 2020)
