CAREER HISTORY
He was signed by the New York Yankees organisation in 2003. He made his MLB debut with the Yankees in 2005 and went on to play over 500 games before he was traded to the Atlanta Braves in December 2009. He has also played in MLB for the Kansas City Royals, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates, and played at least 100 games in all but two seasons between 2006 and 2019. He spent the 2020/21 Dominican Winter League season playing for Aguilas Cibaenas. (baseball-reference.com, 29 Jun 2020)

SANCTION
In August 2012 he received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for prohibited substance testosterone.
