OLYMPIC QUALIFICATION HERO
He batted in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning in the bronze medal game of the 2019 Premier 12 tournament in Japan against the United States of America, which secured Olympic qualification for Mexico. MLB EXPERIENCE
He was drafted in the 50th round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim team. He played in the Angels' minor league affiliate teams before making his Major League Baseball debut in September 2011. He played for the Angels in a total of 130 MLB games in 2011 and from 2013-15, and 23 MLB games for the Detroit Tigers in 2017. In 2018 he played in four MLB games with the Chicago Cubs before departing to Japan, where he joined the Hanshin Tigers in the NPB and played in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. In March 2020, he signed for Toros de Tijuana in the Mexican Baseball League and made his debut in 2021, after the previous season had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was born in Lynwood, CA, United States of America, to Mexican parents. "My parents were born in Mexico, in Michoacan [state].
