He was signed by MLB side the New York Yankees as a free agent in 2009. He reached Triple-A status within the Yankees organisation in 2015, opting for free agency at the end of the year and signing with the San Diego Padres. In 2016 he had his only MLB experience to date with nine games for the Padres. He continued playing in the Padres' affiliate system until late 2017, when he signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals. In 2019 he joined Mexican Baseball League team Sultanes de Monterrey. In 2021 he had a short stint in independent league baseball in Japan with Ibaraki Astro Planets, and later in the year returned to Sultanes.
