The Bahamas qualified for the women's 4x400m in Tokyo via the world rankings, and are making their second Olympic appearance in the event. They first contested the event at the 2016 Games, where they failed to progress from the heats with the 11th-fastest time. Their final ranking in Rio was later bumped up to 10th following the disqualification of Ukraine for an anti-doping violation.
On the world championship stage all four of the Bahamas' appearances have come this century, and they are yet to qualify for a final, with a best ever ranking of 10th in 2015. It is a similar story at the World Relays, where they are yet to progress from the heats and boast a best ranking of 10th from the 2014 edition.
