NEW COACH
He says his disqualification from the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, was a major factor in his decision to move to Cork, Ireland in 2019 to train under Rob Heffernan, who won bronze in the 50km race walk at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. "The disqualification was tough and sitting on that roadside I was gutted, but you have to learn from it. I have known Rob a little while and when I raced in Ireland in July [2019] we had a chat and he said a lot of things that made sense. It felt like time to reflect after the disqualification and I came to the conclusion that joining up with Rob was the next step. I need to evaluate my own technique and Rob is going to be a big help with that because he has been there and done it."
