General Interest

General
US MOVE
In October 2017 she moved to Clermont, FL, United States of America, to train under coach Lance Brauman. "I made the decision to come out here because, at the end of 2017, I was looking for a coach who would primarily improve my speed but would also have jumps expertise and everyone was pointing me towards Lance Brauman. For me, the move wasn't about life experience, it was about the group and the coaching. It's not that we don't have good coaches in the UK, it's that there's just many more options abroad. I miss home so much and I didn't think I would because I enjoy travelling around and doing different things but, being over here, I actually found it really hard." (athleticsweekly.com, 13 Jan 2019; stokesentinel.co.uk, 11 Apr 2018)

LONG DISTANCE COACH
She did not see her coach for over a year during the COVID-19 pandemic, as travel restrictions prevented her from returning to her training base in Clermont, FL, United States of America. She spent that time training in Loughborough, England, before heading back to her training group in Florida in April 2021. "The disruption to training is across the board but I do think it's a good thing because in my career, I'm still on the up. I'm still improving, I don't think I've hit my peak in my career and so to have an extra year [to prepare for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo] which means I'll be closer to the peak, for me, is a big thumbs up. It means I've had an extra year to get fitter, faster and stronger and I've spent this winter trying to do those things." (Instagram profile, 04 Apr 2021; skysports.com, 24 Jan 2021)

MUSICIAN
In 2017 she was a contestant on the UK reality television show, The Voice. She also recorded the official Team England song for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, QLD, Australia, a rendition of Jerusalem, alongside talent show Britain's Got Talent winner Tokio Myers.
