She was born in the United States of America and grew up in Miami, Florida, while visiting Trinidad and Tobago from an early age. Her mother was born in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago and her father is from the United States of America. During her final year at high school in 2015/16 she signed a letter of intent to join the University of Los Angeles, California [UCLA] in 2016/17, but in early 2016 she decided not to attend UCLA and instead turn professional. It meant she gave up the remainder of her final year of eligibility to represent her high school, St Thomas Aquinas, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After taking a year off from studying to focus on her professional career, she went on to study nursing at Broward College in 2018 and Lake-Sumter State College in 2020, both in Florida.
